It Was The Dream Of My Life, So Far.
2024 Mozambique Cape Buffalo Hunt.
I landed in Johannesburg, South Africa on the evening of August 30th 2024 at 6:00PM to finally live out what had been my lifelong dream. After a smooth 16 hour flight from Newark
SOUTH AFRICA: My “Hurricane Hippo” With BAYLY SIPPEL SAFARIS

Now, when I say that it was thick, it is thick enough to almost completely conceal not one but two adult hippos at 15 yards, because I can’t see a thing but brush and thorns. Now the most agonizing conversation of by hunting career begins to unfold. Do you see them? No. They are right there. I can’t see them.
Hunt Report – July-August, 2023. Cape Buffalo, Blouberg Reserve, Limpopo, R.S.A.

I have been back long enough now that I thought I would start a report here. I will try to finish it up this weekend so I don’t let it linger. My son and I first noticed this hunt late last fall here on AH. I kept it in the back of my mind, as I waited to see how my work schedule for 2023 would fall into place. When we both were able
SOUTH AFRICA: RIFLE: BOWHUNT: Bayly Sippel Safaris Review

I haven’t been on this site quite as much as I was prior to my safari, but I guess it only confirms that I need to share my amazing experience with Bayly Sippel Safaris!
I first began talking with Dempsey Bayly at the beginning of 2017 with general questions about a safari! At this point I was just looking, yet had not selected an outfitter, or had any plans set in stone. When I first started thinking about a safari, I had no idea what to expect, no idea who to contact, and was a bit nervous to pull the trigger on a trip across the world by myself. I must say that this website has a lot of pertinent information on the do’s and don’ts, what to pack, helpful tips, etc.
Buffalo Hunt For The Books!

This story begins a few years back. It was one of the finest Buffalo hunts I’ve been privileged enough to be a part of as well as a safari that resulted in me gaining a lifelong friend. I had a free range Buffalo hunt booked with us by an Australian client by the name of David. David had hunted New Zealand, Australia, the United States, Europe and Africa a number of times and he made a real impression as a passionate conservationist and hunter. After a number of conversations the hunt was booked for July in the Northern part of South Africa on a free range, unfenced concession that we were fortunate enough to hunt on. This was to be a buffalo hunt done “the right way”; chasing wild and free buffalo, on foot in a beautiful unspoiled section of the country.
White Bushpig – A True Ghost In The Darkness

Heading out that hot summer day in January to meet up with Frikkie, I had the feeling that something good was about to happen. We were going to meet up with my good friend Alex Scheuer near Greytown in KwaZulu Natal. Alex had recently received trail camera pictures of a massive white bushpig boar at one of his bait sites. The bait site was in a fantastic spot at the very top of a mountain, surrounded by indigineous bush and in the middle of a timber plantation. In other words: pig-heaven, but in a hellish place to reach! Arriving at Frikkie’s house, we quickly packed all the essentials and after a quick tour of his impressive trophy room, we were on the road!
