Combining their passions for the outdoors, people and hunting, Michael and Dempsey have formed a company that focuses not only on the hunt, but also the experience given to each client. INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE
Due to our rich German hunting heritage which stems from Michael’s ties to Germany we have enjoyed a hugely eclectic group of clients from around the world. If you can name a hunting nation, the likelihood is that we have guided someone from there! Typically we attend a number of hunting trade shows from January to February every year and it’s always a pleasure to meet up with old and prospective clients alike.
Dempsey Bayly
Founder
Dempsey is extremely passionate about sharing his knowledge with clients and making memories with new friends. His bubbly personality makes him great to be around and clients are guaranteed to have a laugh with him in Camp. Dempsey loves hunting foreign countries and clients will definitely learn a great deal from him.
Michael Sippel
Founder
Michael grew up with a father also being in the hunting industry and is a highly knowledgeable bow hunter, but is also a very keen rifle hunter. His slow and meticulous hunting style is one of Michaels trademarks and clients are sure to enjoy pursuing African game with him as your PH. In addition Michael is fluent in German and has a very proud German hunting heritage.
Craig Boerstra
PH
Craig has grown up with the love of nature and the African bush. This started at a young age on their family farm. He has grown with the Bayly Sippel Hunting Safaris team from the beginning. He is always willing to go the extra mile to make sure that clients fulfill their dreams on their safari. If you can’t find him in the bush, you can find him with a fishing rod in hand.
Nick Junge
PH
Nick is originally from the Natal Province in South Africa and also shares a strong German heritage. He has a vast knowledge of our Fauna & Flora and has hunted various countries in Africa. Clients are sure to have a good time with him in Camp, and with Nick also being fluent in german he is a valuable addition to the Team.
Alex Menzel
PH
Alex has been guiding professionally for many years and is without question a client favourite. He has a superb 6th sense of how to make the perfect plan to get into range or outsmart the sneakiest of animals. In addition Alex also comes from a German background and is fluent in German.
Richard Collins
PH
Richard is a passionate fisherman and hunter with a deep love for the outdoors. After years of playing competitive rugby, his true calling led him to the bush, where his enthusiasm for hunting really took root. Calm and soft-spoken, Richard has a natural way of making clients feel at ease. He especially enjoys guiding first-time visitors to Africa, sharing the magic and excitement of their very first safari. Like many of us, his favorite animal to guide is the Cape Buffalo. Richard is a valued member of our team and an exceptional leader we’re proud to have with us.
Ricky
Tracking Dog
Ricky is the newest addition to the Team and despite his size has helped find countless wounded animals for clients. A hunting operation is not complete without a good tracking dog.
Reynecke Schutte

Reynecke, also known as “Rey,” is a seasoned professional hunter with over 16 years of guiding experience. Starting his career straight out of school, Rey quickly developed a deep passion for guiding hunters across Africa, dedicating himself to creating unforgettable experiences for every client he hunts with. Whether you’re a seasoned hunter or a first-timer, Rey’s commitment to excellence ensures that every adventure is more than just a hunt—it’s a memorable journey and the start of a lasting friendship.

Bayly Sippel Safaris is committed to local job creation as well as community upliftment. We are involved in a number of charities and programs to give back to the local community and serve to educate others on how humans and wildlife can coexist sustainably. This is most commonly done through “meat drops” as protein is an undeniably important resource in Africa. You are welcome to join us on one of our meat drops or outreach days.
